EXCEEDINGLY RARE AND IMPORTANT
Imperial Presentation porcelain Easter egg with two-tone gilded double-headed eagle, made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg around 1890.
Height 3 3/4 in. (9,5 cm)
A similar egg but with cobalt blue ground and gilded branches from the Goop collection is illustrated in 'Kostbare Ostereier aus dem Zarenreich', Vaduz-Munich, 1998.
The Imperial eagle is flanked by two ribbon-tied silvered laurel branches.
