This antique 14K yellow gold chain from the period of tsar Nicholas II features three miniature egg-shaped pendants. The two smaller eggs have textured surfaces designed to resemble gold nuggets. One egg is set with a faceted blue spinel and the other with a cabochon cut red spinel. The center egg’s polished surface is embellished with an Art Nouveau style two-tone gold flower. The flower is set with an old mine cut diamond and ruby.

All three eggs were made in St. Petersburg between 1904 and 1908. They are marked with maker’s marks and 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard with initials ‘AP’ for St. Petersburg assayer Alexander Romanov (1904-1908).

The gold chain of the necklace was made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. It is marked with 56 zolotnik standard and maker’s initials.
