A pair of ex-librises: from the library of czarevich Alexei, son of Nicholas II (1904-1918), and from the library of Grand Duke Sergei (Serge) Alexandrovich (1857-1905), son of Alexander II.
Ex-libris of czarevich Alexei, 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 in. (6,8 x 10,9 cm), a winged female holding a shield with double headed eagle and monogram of Nicholas II on its chest, inscription in Old Russian style reads: “From the Library of H.I.M. Heir and Czarevich and Grand Duke Alexei Nicholaevich”.
Ex-libries of Grand Duke Serge, 4 x 4 7/8 in. (10 x 12,3 cm), interlaced C and A (for Sergei Alexandrovich in Cyrillic) under the Imperial crown.
