This is a very rare Faberge 19th century jewelry set comprising a brooch and a pair of earrings, crafted in 14K greenish yellow matte gold and embellished with sparkling bright white (E-F color, SI clarity) old cushion cut diamonds and split pearls.

The design of the set was inspired by ancient Greek treasures which were discovered in the South of Russia in the mid 19th century.

All pieces are marked with initials ‘EK’ for Faberge’s workmaster Erik Kollin and St. Petersburg assay mark. The pin guard of the brooch is also marked with 56 zolotnik Imperial gold standard. Most of Faberge jewelry and small gold art objects in ancient style were produced by the workshop of Erik Kollin. Carl Faberge studied original Graeco-Scythian gold objects in the Hermitage collection and incorporated some ancient elements into his jewelry designs of the period. Gold granulation and knot design of these pieces are typical for ancient jewelry.

Faberge earrings of any kind are exceptionally rare.
