Originally, it was a 19th century brooch which was converted into a ring.
The 14K gold ring is set with a round Siberian amethyst of an excellent deep pinkish purple color. The center stone is surrounded by old rose cut diamonds.
The amethyst measures 13.1 x 9.7 mm and is approximately 8.05 carats.
Estimated total diamond weight is 0.50 ct.
