A Belle Epoque Antique Aquamarine Pendant Necklace
This elegantly designed Edwardian era necklace was hand crafted with silver and gold in St. Petersburg, Russia between 1908 and 1917. Later, the necklace had been rhodium plated to make it all white, of a uniform color. The necklace is centered with an oval aquamarine surmounted by a diamond-set ribbon bow, accented with a synthetic ruby. The bow is set with 32 single and rose cut diamonds. The oval aquamarine measures 12.9 x 9.9 x 7 mm and has an estimated weight of 5 carats. The lower pendant is a pear shaped aquamarine held by two diamond-set leaves hanging on two diamond-set links with a ruby highlight. The pear cut aquamarine measures 13.7 x 8.2 x 5.3 mm and is approximately 3 carats.

The necklace is marked with St. Petersburg assay stamp, maker’s initials and later Soviet control stamp for 583 gold (14K) from the 1930s. The silver chain is marked with 875 silver standard.
