A 14K yellow gold ring with engraved decorations is bezel-set with an oval cabochon cut cornflower blue sapphire

A very attractive unisex ring

The ring is marked with maker’s initials ‘ B A ‘, 56 zolotnik gold standard (14K), date ‘ 186? ‘
and a set of Soviet control marks for 583 gold from the 1930s.
One of the Soviet marks – ‘P’ – indicates that the ring was repaired in the 1930s.
Almost certainly, the sapphire had been re-polished at that time.
