This very rare, museum quality early Christian pendant is close in shape and style to the gold pendant engraved with the bust of Christ venerated by two angels from the Ferrell collection. See Treasures of The FERRELL Collection by Jeffrey Spier, page 224.
The face of the angel on this pendant is engraved in the same manner as the faces of the angels on the Ferrell’s pendant. It is possible that both pendants were made at the same workshop.
Condition: minor metal splits at about 1 and around 11 o’clock otherwise excellent.
