An Antique Russian Shaded Cloisonne Enamel and Gilded Silver Cigarette Case
with a painted enamel miniature of the Swan Czarevna (Princess) after the 1900 painting by Mikhail Vrubel (currently at the State Tretyakov gallery in Moscow).
The case was made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917 by the firm of Ivan Khlebnikov, a major Russian silversmith and jeweler, supplier of the Imperial Court.
Both halves of the case are completely covered with cloisonne enamel stylized floral designs in pale green, brown and pink against a translucent blue enamel ground.
The decorations of the case are designed in the Russian Moderne style of the 1910s (also known as the Pan-Slavic style).
The case is in perfect condition. All original enamel and gilding.
