Chrysoprase is the most valuable variety of chalcedony gem stones. Because of its semi-opaque green color, chrysoprase is often mistaken for Imperial jadeite.
In Russia, the stone is mined in the Ural mountains.
This beautiful green cabochon chrysoprase is set in a fancy bezel encrusted with 82 rose cut diamonds.
The chrysoprase has some chips on the back which are not visible from the front.
