An Antique Diamond Solitaire Gold Men’s Ring
made in Kiev between 1899 and 1904
This finely modeled antique Russian ring is designed in the style of medieval stirrup rings (named so due to shape resemblance to horse rider’s stirrup).
The arch shape of the ring is also reminiscent of Gothic architecture.
The ring is centered with a sparkling old cushion cut diamond (5.75 x 5.5 x 3.35 mm, approximately 0.82 ct, J-K color, SI2 clarity) in a silver rub-over setting.
Marked with 1899-1904 Kiev assay hallmark and maker’s initials.
The ring is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard (14K) with assayer’s initials ‘AB’ for Alexander Vyrzhikovsky and maker’s initials ‘T.S.’
