European, circa 1900, with French import marks

The ring is set with 30 old cut diamonds.

The center stone is a cushion cut diamond (5.7 x 5.5 x 2.1, approximately 0.55 ct, color J, clarity VS1).

Due to the way it is cut, the center stone appears much bigger than a half carat diamond (a modern 5.5 x 5.5 cushion diamond is a one carat stone).

Estimated combined diamond weight – 1.40 ct.

The diamonds are set in silver over 14 karat gold.

The ring is marked with French “swan” hallmark for foreign silver and “shell” stamp for imported gold of 585 standard (14K).
