A Russian Imperial Presentation Gold Cigarette Case by FABERGE, Court Jeweler to the Tsars.
Made in St. Petersburg between 1899 and 1904, workmaster August Hollming. The ribbed rose gold case is decorated with a lemon gold double headed Russian Imperial eagle.

The gold eagle is set with a rose-cut diamond.
The interior is engraved with a later presentation inscription dated 1916. Struck on both halves with FABERGE in Cyrillic, master’s initials ‘A* H’ for August Hollming, and 56 zolotniks standard (14 Ct – 583 gold) with assayer’s initials of Yakov Liapunov.
