This original Faberge miniature egg pendant was made in Saint Petersburg, Russia, between 1908 and 1917.
The egg is covered with a superb strawberry red translucent guilloche enamel over a wavy moiré pattern. Faberge is best known for his guilloche enamels. Strawberry red was one of the most popular colors. Faberge was awarded the Grand Prix for his enamel work at Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
The egg is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard (14K) and workmaster’s initials ‘ A A ‘ for Andre Adler.
Height without suspension ring is 16 mm (5/8 in.)
