An antique Russian large gilded silver and shaded cloisonne enamel applique in 17th century style, Moscow, circa 1900, unmarked, elaborately decorated with two stylized birds and floral designs, set with two cabochon garnets and a cabochon amethyst. Wire attachments on the back indicates that the applique was once mounted, probably on a folio.
Weight 6,3 oz. (178 g). Height 5 3/4 in. (14,5 cm). Length 9 1/4 in. (23,4 cm). Condition: excellent.
Although the applique is not marked, it is without doubt the work of the most famous Russian enameler Feodor Ruckert.
