The necklace is handcrafted in silver topped 14K gold (front – silver, back – gold). It features a pear shaped Siberian amethyst of a superb deep royal purple color. The amethyst is framed by bright white (G color) old European cut diamonds.
The amethyst measures 16.4 x 18.7 x 9.4 mm and is approximately 13.75 carats.
Estimated total diamond weight is about 3 carats.
The necklace is marked with 56 zolotnik Imperial gold standard and later Soviet control mark from the 1930s for 583 gold standard. It comes in D. Osipov, St. Petersburg retailer’s case of the period.

Siberian amethysts are no longer mined. They are rare and could be found only in antique jewelry from the Tsarist era or early Soviet era (1930s-1950s).
