Antique Russian Siberian Amethyst and Demantoid Earrings

made in St. Petersburg between 1899 and 1904

The 14K gold earrings are prong-set with two exceptional Siberian amethysts.

It is very rare to see a pair of perfectly matched Siberian amethysts of that size:

14 x 13 x 11 mm (approximately 11.67 ct) and 14 x 13.1 x 11.2 mm (approximately 11.98 ct).

There is no modern production of amethysts in Russia. All original Siberian amethysts are found only in old Russian jewelry dated before 1950s.

Siberian amethyst earrings are rare in general. Earrings with amethysts of this size and quality are exceptionally rare.
