Early Art Deco Sapphire and Gold Cufflinks
The matte 14K gold cufflinks of a geometric design are centered with cabochon cut blue sapphires. These stylish cufflinks were made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917.
The cufflinks are marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard, maker’s mark ‘2АЮ’ and a later Soviet control mark for 583 gold from the 1930s. The later mark indicates that the cufflinks were re-sold in a state-owned shop at that time.
