An 18K gold locket pendant fully ornamented with fine granulation and filigree, inspired by ancient Etruscan and Greek jewelry. A characteristic example of the Archaeological Revival style jewelry, particularly popular during the 1860s and 1870s.
The interior of the locket is fitted with a glazed miniature picture frame.
The pendant measures (without bail) 36 x 27 mm (1 3/8 x 1 1/16 in.)
