This gold mounted carved cat’s eye quartz miniature egg pendant was made in Russia between 1899 and 1908.  The stone displays a chatoyance or cat’s eye effect.

The egg is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard and maker’s initials.

Height without suspension ring is 14 mm (9/16 in.)
