This hand engraved 14K gold antique Russian cross pendant was made in Moscow in 1868 during the reign of Tsar Alexander II. The abbreviation βICβ β βXCβ on the horizontal arms of the cross stands for Jesus Christ.
The cross is marked with Moscow assay mark (Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon), date ‘1868’, ’56’ zolotnik old Russian gold standard, and maker’s initials ‘EA’.
