An Antique Almandine Garnet and Gold Necklace
made in Odessa between 1908 and 1917
This elegant Edwardian era 14K gold necklace features one pear shape and seven round purplish red almandine garnets.
The necklace is marked on frame and clasp of the chain with 56 zolotnik gold standard and maker’s initials.
There is also a later Soviet control mark for 583 gold from the 1930s which indicates that the necklace was re-sold at that time.
The garnet pendant is approximately 63 mm (2 1/2 in.) wide and 63 mm (2 1/2 in.) high.
