Faberge Egg
An antique red guilloche enamel and diamond miniature egg pendant by Peter Carl Faberge, jeweler to the Tsars.
This Faberge egg was made in St Petersburg between 1899 and 1903. Height 5/8 in. (1,7 cm)
The detachable gold mount of the egg is marked with initials of Faberge’s workmaster August Hollming (a six pointed star between ‘A’ and ‘H’), and 56 zolotnik old Imperial gold standard (14K – 583 gold) with Cyrillic initials ‘ ЯЛ ‘ for St Petersburg assay master Yakov Liapunov (1899-1903).
This Faberge egg is covered with a very beautiful deep strawberry red guilloche enamel of the highest quality.
