Rare Imperial presentation porcelain Easter egg with cipher of Tsar Nicholas II, the Imperial Porcelain Factory, circa 1900.
Height 3 5/8 in. (9 cm). Diameter 3 in. (7,5 cm).
Very heavy for its size, thickly potted porcelain egg covered with red glaze (known as ox blood) and decorated with gilded Imperial cipher ‘H II’. Condition: minor gilt loss.
This egg was personally given by the Emperor on Easter Day.
Pierced at both ends for a silk ribbon attachment.
