Extremely Rare Imperial Presentation Egg, circa 1915. Porcelain cobalt blue egg is decorated with gilded cipher of Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna (1899-1918), the third daughter of Nicholas II. Height 2 1/2 in. (6,2 cm). Original ribbon. This type is missing from “Russian Imperial Porcelain Easter Eggs” by Tamara Kudriavtseva and Harold A. Whitbeck.

The egg was given by Grand Duchess Maria as a gift on Easter day.
