Large silver-gilt serving spoon from the service made for Russian Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich (son of Paul I, brother of czar Nicholas I) in Paris in the 1830s.
This rare service was commissioned at the French royal silversmith firm Froment-Maurice.

The handle is decorated with cipher of the Grand Duke: Cyrillic ‘MP’ beneath Russian Imperial crown.
Struck with the French 1st standard (950 silver), and maker’s mark.
Condition: lightly worn gilding, some very minor shallow dents to the bowl (almost unnoticeable), overall very fine.
