This antique 18K gold pendant is set with an exceptionally large and rare Siberian amethyst of deep purple color, enlivened by vivid pink flashes. The importance of the stone is underscored by its ornate bezel, decorated with white and blue cloisonne enamel leaf motifs and accented with numerous gold beads.
The amethyst measures 31.67 x 23.06 x 14.02 mm and weighs approximately 54.27 carats.
This is likely among the largest Siberian amethysts we have encountered and would have been a rare and valuable gem even in the 19th century.
The pendant measures without bail 51 x 40 mm (2 16 x 1 5/8 in.)

Overall excellent condition, with traces of a removed pin on the reverse.
