This unusual 14K gold charm pendant is modeled as a folding miniature photo camera of the period.
A hidden spring mechanism releases the lens when the cover is opened, cleverly imitating the function of early cameras.
The pendant is marked with the Austrian horse head assay mark with the letter “W” for Vienna, and with the maker’s initials.
The camera measures 12 x 6 mm (1/2 x 1/4 in.)
