A Superb Antique Russian Demantoid Garnet Brooch Pin circa 1885

of a crescent shape, centered with a cluster (central stone approximately 0.70 ct), flanked by two large oval demantoids (approximately 1.15 ct and 1.04 ct),

all stones have “horsetail” inclusions typical for Russian Uralian demantoids, approximate combined demantoid weight – 5.24 ct.

The brooch is in excellent condition for its age, with very beautiful sparking antique demantoids set in 14K rose gold.

What is interesting about this brooch, is that it was made in the city of Perm, the biggest city in the Ural Mountains, the region where Russian demantoids are mined.
