This is a historically important presentation stick pin with the crowned red guilloche enamel double ‘F’ cipher of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination in Sarajevo in 1914 led to the outbreak of the World War I.
The stick pin is made of 14K yellow gold. The crown is made of silver and is embellished with old rose cut diamonds.
Marked on pin with fox head Austrian assay mark for Vienna and maker’s initials ‘FK’ for Friedrich Kanewart, a prominent jeweler of the period.
