An elegant and historically important Imperial presentation brooch with a cipher of Empress Elisabeth ‘Sissi’ of Austria.
The brooch is designed as a diamond cipher ‘E’ beneath Imperial crown laid over a flowing gold ribbon. The cipher is set with old mine cut and rose cut diamonds. The brooch is crafted in 14K yellow gold.
Approximate total diamond weight is 1 carat.
The diamond cipher measures 30 x 12 mm (1 1/8 x 1/2 in.)
Length of the gold ribbon is 45 mm (1 3/4 in.)
Marked with fox’s head assay mark for the 4th gold standard, maker’s initials ‘O.L’, and ‘A’ for Vienna.
The world-famous Empress Elisabeth ‘Sissi’ (1837-1898) was considered a fashion icon and one of the most beautiful women of her time.
This brooch was a personal gift given by the Empress.
