Size – 21 x 28 cm (8 1/4 x 11 in.)

Czarevich Alexei is wearing a white Navy uniform with a black cross badge of the Guard Equipage (an elite unit of the Russian Navy).

The photograph was taken in the interiors of the Tsarskoe Selo palace.

Although this particular image is well known and is reproduced in numerous publications on the last royal family of Russia, original prints are rare.
