A Pair of Antique Amethyst and Diamond Cluster Earrings

Made in St. Petersburg between 1899 and 1904.

The 14K yellow gold earrings are set with two sparkling medium purple amethysts surrounded by 26 old single cut diamonds.

The amethysts are 7 x 6.4 x 5.3 mm and 7 x 6.5. x 5.2 mm. The approximate combined weight is 3 carats.

The total estimated diamond weight is 0.60 ct.

Height – 19 mm (11/16 in.), clusters – 16 mm (7/16 in.).

Both earrings are marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard (14K),

with initials of St. Petersburg assay master Yakov Liapunov (1899-1904) and maker’s initials.

The earrings come in a retailers’ leather case of A. Tillander jewelry shop in St. Petersburg.
