This 14K gold necklace features a 5.40 ct cabochon cut Colombian emerald of a very nice ocean blue green color framed by sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The principal emerald is flanked by a pair of diamond-set half moon and leaf designs accented by two smaller cab emeralds.
Estimated total diamond weight is 1.20 carats.
The pendant is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard (assay mark dates to the period 1882-1898) and maker’s initials.
The chain is of later date. It was made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. The chain is marked with 56 zolotnik standard, maker’s mark and later Soviet control mark for 583 gold standard from the 1930s.
The necklace is accompanied by the American Gemological Laboratories Prestige report 1124811 for the emerald.
