This antique platinum-topped 18K gold crossover engagement ring with interlocking diamond and sapphire was made in France around 1905. The French call this type of engagement ring “toi et moi” (you and me). The main diamond is a sparkling old European cut diamond (approximately 0.40 ct, H-I color , VS1 clarity). Estimated weight of the sapphire is 0.32 ct. The center stones are accented by old rose cut diamonds.
The ring is marked with pre-1919 French assay mark in the shape of a horse head.
