A 22K gold ring is centered with an oval blue sapphire (8.8 x 6.9 x 4.1 mm, approximately 2 carats) surrounded by old single cut diamonds (estimated total diamond weight 0.60 ct).
The sapphire and diamond top is flanked by two chased gold seashells (a symbol of love and fertility). The carved gold openwork shank of the ring is designed in the style of 17th-early 18th century gold rings. The horizontal position of the sapphire is also typical for the rings from that period.
