An Antique Russian Enameled Miniature Egg Pendant
The egg is covered with a delicate pale blue guilloche enamel of a very fine quality.
Made in St Petersburg between 1899 and 1908 by one of the best Russian enamelers of the period – Ivan Britzin.
Ivan Britzin (1852-1912) was the owner of a jewelry shop RUSSIAN ENAMEL in St. Petersburg.
According to the book Gold And Silversmiths In Russia 1600-1926 by A. Ivanov, Ivan Britzin worked for the firm of Faberge as a workmaster before establishing his own business (volume I, page 145).

The quality of enamel of this egg is identical to the quality of Faberge guilloche enamel eggs.
The gold ring is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard and maker’s initials ‘ И Б ‘ for Ivan Britzin.
