These rare antique Russian 14K gold earrings were made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917.
The earrings feature two excellent unheated Ceylon sapphires (2.51 cts and 2.48 cts) framed by old European and old mine cut diamonds. The sapphires have vivid blue color, very fine color saturation and sparkle.
Total sapphire weight is 4.99 carats.
Estimated total diamond weight is 2.70 carats.
The earrings are accompanied by two American Gemological Laboratories Prestige gemstone reports (1144420 and 1144419) for the sapphires.
The sapphire and diamond cluster measures 14 x 12 mm (4/8 x 7/16 in.)
Total length is 21 mm (13/16 in.)
Weight: 3.57 and 3.77 grams.
Marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard, Moscow assay mark and maker’s initials ‘ИГ’.
The earrings come in a fitted Russian leather case of the period.
