The Grand Duchess Tatyana Nikolaevna (1897-1918), the second daughter of Nicholas II.
Porcelain Easter egg circa 1916, decorated with a handpainted Imperial monogram of Tatyana (TH). Imperial Porcelain Factory. Such eggs were handed out by the Grand Duchess at hospitals on Easter Days during the World War I. Although a large numbers were made, very few have survived to these days. Porcelain eggs with cyphers of children of Nicholas II are especially rare.
Height 2 1/2 in. (6,2 cm). Some wear to gilt, no chips, no cracks.
Jeton for donors of the Committee of Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Tatyana Nikolaevna for Civil Relief and Charities during the World War I.
These jetons were awarded in silvered bronze and silver, depending on amount of donation.
Silver plated bronze jeton circa 1916 (2,3 x 4 cm). One side is decorated with the Imperial monogram of Tatyana over blue enamel ground, another side bears the name of the donor ‘A.A.Frunza’. This name is listed in “All St Petersburg for 1914” (yellow pages) p. 699, that person was a singer in the Court Choir.
