This Victorian era novelty brooch is designed as a gold sword with a silver double edged blade piercing an oval faceted amethyst.

The amethyst is 16 x 13 x 8.8 mm (estimated weight 9.70 ct)

Marked on pin guard with maker’s initials and Moscow assay mark for 56 zolotnik (14K) gold.

Width 45 mm (1 3/4 in.)

The brooch has a loop behind the sword’s hilt and can be worn as a pendant.
