A pair of 14K gold antique cluster earrings prong-set with deeply saturated royal purple with flashes of pink old mine cut Siberian amethysts surrounded by sparkling bright white old mine cut diamonds (F-G color, SI clarity).
The amethysts: 9.6 x 8.7 x 7.4 mm, approximately 3.28 ct and 9.6 x 8.6 x 7.3 mm, approximately 3.19 ct.
Estimated total diamond weight 2.50 ct
The amethyst and diamond top measures 16 x 15 mm (5/8 x 9/16 in.)
The earrings are marked with 56 zolotnik Imperial gold standard, St. Petersburg assay mark and maker’s initials.
Siberian amethysts are no longer mined. They are rare and could be found only in antique jewelry from the Tsarist era or early Soviet era (1930s-1950s).
