This original Faberge miniature egg pendant was crafted in Saint Petersburg, Russia, between 1908 and 1917.
The egg is adorned with superb strawberry-red guilloché enamel – a technique for which Faberge is renowned. The enamel displays exceptional translucency and depth, shimmering over the intricate engine-turned pattern beneath.
Faberge’s mastery of enamelwork earned him the Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900, and this pendant exemplifies the exquisite craftsmanship and refined aesthetic that made his creations treasures of the Russian Imperial era.
A rare and elegant piece of history, beautifully preserved and highly collectible.
Marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard (14K) and initials ‘ФА’ for Faberge’s workmaster Feodor Afanasiev.
