Russian porcelain cabinet plate, circa 1914, decorated with portrait of Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich Jr. (1856-1929), uncle of czar Nicholas II and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army in the beginning of the World War I, he is wearing General’s uniform with orders and decorations, including Imperial presentation miniature portrait of Nicholas II. The reddish brown border is painted with gilded foliage. Kornilov Brothers factory in St. Petersburg. Diameter 8 1/4 in. (20,8 cm). Excellent condition.
