A Very Rare Imperial presentation porcelain Easter egg, circa 1915, with gilded cipher of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia (1901-1918), the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna.
Such eggs were personally given away by Anastasia. Most of these World War I eggs were intended for wounded soldiers whom the Grand Duchess visited on Easter Day.
The egg with the cipher of Anastasia is the rarest among the Easter eggs with ciphers of Nicholas II’s children.
The egg is decorated with a cipher ‘AH’ beneath the Russian Imperial crown.
