Circa 1790s – early 1800s.
This rare Georgian era 14K gold unisex ring features a large cabochon cut dark red garnet. The garnet is set in a royal blue guilloche enamel & white opaque enamel oval bezel accented by rose cut diamonds.
Diameter of the garnet is 11 mm. The enamel bezel measures 20 x 19 mm (2/3 x 11/16 in.)
The original shank of the ring was replaced in the late 19th century. The replacement shank is marked with Austro-Hungarian assay mark in the form of a fox’s head and ‘A’ for Vienna.
