This antique engraved 14K rose gold cross with straight arms was made in Saint Petersburg between 1899 and 1903, during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II.
The abbreviation ‘IC’ – ‘XC’ on the horizontal arms of the cross stands for Jesus Christ.
The cross is marked with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard with initials ‘ЯЛ’ for St. Petersburg assay master Yakov Liapunov (1899-1903) and maker’s initials ‘PB’ for Rudolf Weide, a prominent jeweller of the period who specialized in gold cross pendants.
