This miniature (14 mm high w/o suspension ring) antique Russian egg-shaped pendant was made in St. Petersburg between 1899 and 1904. The carved amethyst top is separated from the lower gold part with embossed scrolls by a band of faceted rock crystal. The egg is marked on suspension ring with 56 zolotnik Imperial gold standard (14K), assayer’s initials ‘ЯЛ’ for Yakov Liapunov (1899-1904) and maker’s initial.
