The engraved inscription on the back in Old Slavonic script reads: SAVE AND PROTECT.

Marked with maker’s initials, 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard, and Moscow assay mark.

The cross measures (without suspension ring) 42 x 23 mm (1 5/8 in. x 15/16 in.)
