The locket pendant is set with a finely carved Victorian shell cameo of Greco-Roman God Dionysus (Bacchus), represented as a handsome youth wearing a wreath of vine leaves and grapes.
The gold back cover is engraved with an anchor – a symbol of Faith and Hope in Victorian era jewelry. The anchor is embellished with seven rose cut diamonds.
The interior is fitted with a miniature gold picture frame.
Length without bail is 30 mm (1 1/8 in.)
The locket is stamped with both 14K and old Russian 56 zolotnik marks.
The chain is Russian made and is marked with 56 zolotnik gold standard.
