The guilloche pattern resembles a scrolling sea shell accented with a diamond.
The locket is covered with a very beautiful oyster white translucent enamel of the highest quality which Faberge firm was renowned for.

There is a small area of professionally repaired enamel on rim along the hinge of the front half (see picture below).
